Wanted: Library Manager
The Phelps Community Memorial Library is seeking an enthusiastic and service-oriented Library Manager.
The Library Manager is responsible for planning, developing, implementing and directing public library services for the Phelps Community Memorial Library, an association library chartered to serve 7000 residents in the Finger Lakes region of New York.
Areas of responsibility include community relations, collection development, budgeting, special programming, and strategic planning for organizational growth. In addition, administration of staffing, finances, technology and facilities oversight are required. The position reports directly to the Library Board of Trustees and is responsible for ensuring library services meet community need.
A Bachelor's degree and at least three years of library work experience, including one year in a position of leadership or management, is required. Thirty hours per week. Salary $30,000/year plus benefits. The job will begin on January 2, 2013.
